I was driving over the reservoir last night just as the the sun was setting. I’ve watched many a sunsets, but this one was different. A single beam, a powerful ray of light pierced through the sky and stood tall as if it was refusing to go down.

What love will do! ❤️🪴

Summer was coming to an end and I spotted this sad plant at someone’s curb on garbage day. It was in pretty bad shape, but it still had some life left. The green was fading fast, the container-shallow and dry, but it seemed to call out to me. I didn’t have the heart to leave it so I brought it home, gave it a little TLC, and waited. Soon, I was repotting it and allowing it some more room to grow roots.

Today, she’s bigger than I expected and thriving in her new home with lots of love and light. When I look at her, I feel joy, hope, and possibilities. As she grows, I feel like she’s thanking me for saving her.

5 months ago, I couldn’t help but connect with this sad, drooping plant that was destined for the dump.
I believed it deserved a second chance.
I believed there was more life left and it just needed a little love, patience and encouragement.

➡️ Sometimes we’ve outgrown our pot.
➡️ Sometimes people give up on us too soon.
➡️ Sometimes others don’t see the beauty until we are grown.

Keep growing. Keep believing. Trim the leaves of the past and watch new growth take shape. A little love is a powerful thing. ❤️
